BLOOD TEXTURES RE-EDITED    These images can be used to create splashes or stains over another surfaces. The old version contains just the paint over the paper, so it was an ardouos task to aislate the paint to the white of the paper. This time I've included two images per texture, one with the color and the other with the alpha channel. By editing the images with any photo editing software , you can easily aislate the stains to the rest of the images by using the black and white image, for selecting just the stains.    Originally I was thinking to use this images as blood, and that's the reason why I painted it with red paint, but you can use it to make grass or paint stains by changing the color. The definition of these images is exceptionally hight you can even use parts of the stains.    I've wrote some additional comments for people that are curious about how I created these textures. Well, in the time I needed to create these textures, I was not able to find anything ( fortunately ). What about just splashes of any kind? I found nothing really useful. So I had two options, paint splashes, or to actually splash something myself. The second option looks the best one for make something realistic, so I decided to go with this one.    After a few attempts, I found this way really fun. I took all the white paper that I had and a bottle of red paint ( gouache), and I covered all my working desk with old magazines. I was trying to splash the paint in differents ways, with differents sizes of pencils, an old toothbrush, the back of the pencil, or even my fingers. I did it from different distances, even by putting the paper in the floor and letting the paint drip from one or two meters distance. After I was experimenting enough time I found how differents techniques work, and I was able to do what I wanted to do. So the final textures are the result of painted areas, controled splashes, dripping and letting the paint trickle away over the paper I began to work in this matter in the end of the afternoon and I had so much fun, that I was working all the night long until the next morning. And a lot of these experiments was really useful. For people that never saw the old material, I've posted here a couple of examples. Click into the pictures to enlarge < < BACK to the previous menu THE SATANIC PENTAGRAM    In the time I made these paintings, and because we need to create a terrifying ambient plenty of ritual symbols and blood, I was looking information about satanism as reference. Besides to frighten a few of my fellow workers, I was very dissapointed about my search. I visited some specialized book shops in Madrid and I found just books and magazines about black and white magic, vampires, voodoo ... ( !!!!!?????? ). I finally bought a curious little book with esoteric symbols used with magic purposes.    My search in Internet was even worse; I found nothing interesting in days. Finally I found a small black an white photograph in a weird website of some kind of satanic sect. In this photograph people are making a ritual in the front of a wall whith a big symbol painted by hand. This symbol made me remember something I saw in the little book that I bought a couple of days before. And yes, I found it! It is an inverted pentagram surrounded by a circle with symbols at the end of the tips , and a second circle all around. But in the photograph a goat's head was painted inside the pentagram. So using the picture as reference for the head, and copying the rest from the book, I painted my satanic pentagram as you can see in the texture. For make it more terrific, I tried to simulate that it was painted by hand with blood as paint.    When I posted my textures in Internet, I was not very sure about publicate this specific one, because I don't know what's exactly the signification of this symbol. What if this symbol represent a radical sect, or any political or religious controversial belief? The're a lot of groups that use religious, satanic or political symbols for represent themselves, and I'm not worry about them,but the're some kind of people in the world that is better don't disturb them at all.    A few days ago I was looking again in Internet, trying to find the signification of this symbol. I found it very quickly, probably because at present the information that we can find in Internet is really vast compared with eight years ago. The funny thing for me is this symbol is actually very popular, and in spite the origin of this symbols is really old, it was used by Knights Templar, Freemasons, occultists and including the goat's head, by the satanists. So very dissapointed, nothing that implicate a dangerous occultist sect or any secret plan for conquest the world. Anyway, I hope nobody care about my texture :-P.
